Phase N/A Results

Results

There was a trend toward better treatment received (more physiotherapy, speech therapy and occupational therapy) and better outcome in the group treated in the stroke rehabilitation ward compared to those who received conventional care. 63% of patients in the SRW group returned to the community upon discharge compared to 52% in the control group. This difference in the proportion of patients in the community was maintained at one year. At one year, 69% of patients in the SRW group were surviving vs. 59% in the control group.
