Inclusion Criteria
Neurologic deficits involving the carotid or vertebrobasilar territories most likely caused by cerebrovascular thrombosis, completely conscious, partial motor deficits.Exclusion Criteria
Probable existence of an embolism due to cardiac disorder, >48 hours between stroke onset and initiation of treatment, clear evidence of stroke progression within 1 hour of assignment of treatment, contraindication to anticoagulation treatment, intracranial hemorrhage as determined by computed tomographic (CT) scan.Recruitment
