Trial Description

To evaluate the effectiveness of dexamphetamine combined with intensive physiotherapy the first week after ischemic stroke in patients with severe motor dysfunction and an impaired level of consciousness.

Trial Design

Randomized, controlled, single-blind trial.

Patient Involvement

All patients received dexamphetamine. The first 10 patients received 5-10mg once or twice daily while the other 23 patients received 10mg twice daily. Patients in the control group received standard training 15 minutes per day for 5 days. Patients in the experimental group received 30-45 minutes of physiotherapy twice a day for 5 days.

Outcomes
