Trial Description

To conduct a pilot trial investigating the possible neuroprotective effects of mild intraoperative hypothermia in aneurysm surgery.

    Intervention Desc: Reduction of brain temperature and body temperature for neuroprotection

Trial Design

Randomized, controlled, prospective study

Patient Involvement

Patients were randomized into either a hypothermic group, which was cooled intraoperatively to 33.5 degrees C, or to a normothermic group, which was maintained at 36.5 degrees C. All participants' neurological statuses were evaluated at 24 and 72 hours post-operatively, and again at 3-6 months after surgery.
