Trial Description

To compare the effects of oral aspirin vs. high-dose IV unfractionated heparin (UFH) on the levels of inflammatory markers in blood plasma and the corresponding effect on neurological impairment.

Interventions

Trial Design

Prospective trial of 167 patients.

Patient Involvement

Patients received either 1000 I U/h IV UFH or 300 mg oral aspirin.

Outcomes
