Trial Description

To study the effect of hypervolemic hemodilution on cerebral blood flow (CBF).

Interventions

Trial Design

Open, randomized, controlled trial of 27 patients.

Patient Involvement

12 patients were randomly allocated as controls without 10% hydroxyethylstarch (HES) infusion and 15 received 500 ml HES daily, infused over a period of 5-7 h, for 7 days.
