Early supported hospital discharge following acute stroke

Phase N/A Results

Results

No statistically significant differences were found between groups in terms of functional abilities, handicap, global health status, mortality or caregiver stress at three months post stroke, although the early supported discharge group appeared to be participating in more extended activities of daily living than the conventional hospital care group. The median length of stay was significantly shorter in patients randomized to early supported discharge compared to the conventional hospital care group (p=0.02).
