Trial Description

To assess complications and early outcome for patients undergoing carotid endarterectomy (CEA) with contralateral internal carotid artery occlusion and compare them with those of patients with no contralateral occlusion.

Interventions

    Intervention Desc: Surgical therapy to remove atherosclerotic plaque in narrowed carotid arteries.

Trial Design

Prospective, multi-center trial of 700 patients.
