Bradford Community Stroke Trial

Phase N/A Results

16 patients were lost to follow-up. At 6 months, 52% of the day-hospital patients were being treated, as opposed to 21% of the home-care patients (P = 0.002), and day-hospital patients received a median of 31 treatment sessions, while home-care patients received a median of 15 treatment sessions (P < 0.001). Although patients in both groups had significant improvements in the BI, MCA, and functional ambulation categories, the home-care patients improved significantly more in all three areas than did the day-hospital patients (BI: P = 0.05; MCA: P = 0.03; functional ambulation: P = 0.03). There was no significant difference in the FAI, NHP, or caregiver GHQ-28 scores.
