To determine whether physical therapy in a day-hospital setting, or physiotherapy provided at home provides greater functional and social post-stroke rehabilitation.
Stratified, randomized, controlled trial.
Eligible patients were stratified according to the time interval between stroke onset and discharge, and the BI score at discharge. They were then randomized to receive either physical therapy twice a week at a day hospital, or to receive physical therapy at home.
