to evaluate the safety and efficacy of the Medtronic Interceptor® PLUS Carotid Filter System with the Medtronic Exponent® Self-Expanding Carotid Stent System for the treatment of carotid stenosis.

Primary Outcome:
Incidence of death, myocardial infarction (MI), and ipsilateral stroke at 1 year.

Secondary Outcome:
Major adverse events at 30 days; acute success defined by stent delivery system and distal protection device and procedual success; freedom from all stroke at 1 year.
