Action
Antispasticity agent - centrally-acting selective alpha 2 adrenoreceptor agonist.

Status
Tizanidine is approved by the US FDA for management of increased muscle tone associated with spasticity. This is based on studies of spinal cord injury and multiple sclerosis. Dose titration safety and efficacy study in stroke patients reported 2/00.
