Status
US FDA approved for treatment of subarachnoid hemorrhage. Published ischemic stroke trials have reported mixed results. European Phase III trial (VENUS) presented 2/99, published 2/01, showed no benefit of nimodipine given with 6 hrs of stroke onset.
