Intraventricular Hemorrhage is a frequent cause of death in premature infants. It is found in up to 20% of infants born before 29 weeks gestation but is found in <2% of infants born after 32 weeks gestation. IVH is usually secondary to bleeding into the subependymal germinal matrix and subsequent rupture of the ependyma.
