New & Noteworthy:

As part of Stroke Awareness Month, the American Stroke Association and the AdCouncil have launched a public awareness campaign entitled "I Am a Stroke." The campaign is a series of public service announcements featuring various celebrities.

Stroke Family Caregiving for African-AmericansStroke Family Caregiving for African-Americans is the latest project from our ongoing collaboration with Washington University's Program in Occupational Therapy. Designed specifically with African-American caregivers in mind, this site nonetheless contains universal information for stroke family caregivers from all walks of life.

A recently added glossary of neurological terms and disorders is designed to assist patients, their family members, and students in understanding some of the complex words used in stroke diagnosis and treatment.

How Stroke is Treated

Atlas of Stroke Mortality The Atlas of Stroke Mortality is now available from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. This incredibly comprehensive project provides comparative stroke mortality rates by state, by county, and ethnicity.


Life After Stroke, produced by Healthology Life After Stroke: This series of free, streaming videos from Healthology features practical information about stroke care and rehabilitation.
