When Grandpa Comes Home: A Story About Stroke
At bedtime, I bring my favorite book to Grandpa’s bed in the living room. Mama has moved the furniture and fixed the house to make it safe for Grandpa. Grandpa pats a place next to him for me to sit.
“It’s my turn to read to you, Grandpa,” I say. I do all the voices of the characters. After the story, he sneaks me a butterscotch, like he used to. “Dad!” says Mama. |
