Notes: The intensity of anticoagulation at the time of stroke
in AF patients assigned to warfarin is illustrated. The majority
of strokes that were documented in the “warfarin groups” of
the original five trials occurred in patients who were not
taking anticoagulant therapy at the time of the event 21-26.
The shaded area illustrates the ACCP recommended range of
INR 2.0–3.019.
