It is premature to abort the Code Stroke at this point. In the acute phase of a major life-threatening emergency, a wide range of emotional reactions is possible. Witnesses, family members, and occasionally members of the health care team may respond emotionally. It is incumbent upon the skilled physician to provide information, leadership, and to keep efforts focused on emergent treatment priorities.
