Where to Get Additional Help

As with all medical concerns, the best source of information is your doctor. He or she will be able to answer your questions and should be able to provide some pointers on programs and agencies in your community that are ready to assist you. Hospital or community social workers are also a great source of information on local assistance and rehabilitative programs.

For support on caring for a loved one after a stroke, call the American Stroke Association's Warm Line at 1-888-4-STROKE (478-7653). You may also wish to contact your local affiliate of the American Stroke Association to see if support groups are available in your area.
