FDA approved for pulmonary embolism, coronary artery thrombosis, and I.V. catheter clearance. Trials for intra-arterial stroke therapy ongoing. In 1999 the FDA informed Abbott Laboratories of concerns related to manufacturing deficiencies for urokinase (Abbokinase); product is not currently available in the US.
